As an enforcement agency, the City of Adelaide may collect photos of vehicles that have received a parking expiation for breaching the Australian Road Rules for the purpose of documenting evidence and assisting a review or enforcement of an expiation. All information and photos recorded on our Authorised Officers' devices are transferred to a secure environment at the end of their shift, wiping all information from the device. Whilst capturing this evidence, the Officers take reasonable steps to ensure that faces are not captured in photos, however this is not always possible. These photos, collected by Council for the purposes of law enforcement, are typically only accessible to staff who play a role in answering customer queries, conducting internal reviews, prosecuting matters at court, administering the expiation lifecycle or auditing officers’ collection of evidence.

We have extended this access to vehicle owners (or their authorised representative) to help them determine what action to take to resolve their expiation. Photos are only provided if both the expiation number and vehicle registration number entered are a match. The photos will not be made available outside of these processes unless required or authorised by law. All information (including photos) collected by Council is managed under the City of Adelaide’s Privacy Policy.
