B 7401 The Hotel Thistle was on the south-west corner of Waymouth and Bentham Streets. Established as the Scotch Thistle Inn in 1839, it traded until 1970. The building has been demolished. Waymouth street, City, was fined £5 with 12/6 costs in the Adelaide Police Court today on a charge of having supplied liquor to Sylvia Gertrude Evans about 2.15 p.m on November 14. Mrs. Evans, a hairdresser, and her husband, William Vivian Evans, air craft inspector, boarders at the hotel, were charged with having obtained liquor at the hotel between 2 and 4 p.m on November 14.
